We are a community of believers who come together to experience God in a joyful way, whether we're at a service, a special event, or simply spending time with our small group. We teach biblical truth so that you can understand it, relate to it, and apply it today! Along the way, we sing, and laugh. We teach and pray. We roll up our sleeves and get involved. And sometimes, we just sit quietly in the presence of God.
The Bible urges believers to constantly be studying and meditating in scripture. For example, Joshua was urged to make sure that he was meditating on the law of the Lord day and night as key to success. The psalmist described the blessedness of people whose delight is in the law of the Lord. Jesus commanded his apostles to teach disciples to obey all things that he had commanded them, and Paul tells the Colossian believers to let the word of God dwell in them richly. Here at Bay Park we are committed to realizing this mandate in the life of every believer who is part of our fellowship. One of the principle ways that we seek to do this is through the Life Long Learning Institute of Bay Park.
The Institute's purpose is to organize and deliver intentional teaching of God's word and training in obedience and service for the people of Bay Park and others who may be interested within the Kingston community. As leaders, we want you to understand the faith we confess, know how to study Scripture, to enjoy a rich relationship with God, to explore God's gifts to you and to put them to use in the service of God's kingdom, and to reach out into your world with the good news of Jesus' love.
The curriculum to achieve these goals is set up with a number of different tracks that focus on different areas. Through seminars, teaching modules, practicums, and even one-to-one coaching, we will help you to grow in these various areas. Each track includes a number of units/courses which can be covered in any order. All units will be offered over a 3-4 year period in one of a variety of formats. Note that track #1 is especially geared for new believers. If you want to review the basics again, this is a good track to follow. But if you are comfortable with the basics, then tracks #2 - #8 are for you. As you complete the requirements of each track, we will join you in celebrating your achievement. The real payoff is always the growth in your life and character that results.
You may choose to do as many or as few units per year from as many or as few tracks as you like. We encourage you though to get started by registering for at least a couple of units per year. Plan to make growing in your Christian life through our Life Long Learning Institute a part of your regular schedule! Peruse the "KEYS" brochure, watch the schedule and make it a priority to get involved.
